Dedicated to the memory of Margaret Clapham

Margaret was a loving wife, mother to Sarah, Mark, Jessica and grandmother to Arron, Dani, Jayden, Isaac, Aliyha, Harry, Emily and George and great grandmother to Avaya and Ellie.

She gave much of her time to the Scout Movement where she was involved in delivering Scouting for over 35 years. During this time, she was involved in various rolls in scouting with the 14th Gainsborough Scout Group, District Commissioner for Gainsborough Scouts, Assistant County Commissioner, and Leader Training for both County and District. Over the years she had the help of many other adults, many that have stayed very close friends to bring the Scout Association values to help 100’s of young people of Gainsborough to reach their full potential on life’s journey.

In 2019 she was awarded the prestigious scouting award the Silver Wolf by the Chief Scout Bear Grylls for outstanding commitment to Scouting This award is the highest award in Scouting for adult volunteers and is the Scout equivalent of the MBE’s. It was a double celebration as it was also awarded to husband Alan. The award was never officially presented or worn due to Covid 19.

The family would like to express a big thank you to the Gainsborough Community Nurses, Gainsborough Bluebird caring team, St Barnabas Hospice nurses and Marie Curie nurses for all their professionalism and care in nursing given to Margaret at home during the last week of her life.

TRIBUTE TO OUR MUM Mum you were our sunshine, our counsellor and best friend, the love and respect we all had for you will truly never end. You were loving, caring, patient, considerate, gentle and kind, and we all knew we could count on you if we had something on our mind. The last 17 months was a battle, but your strength always shone through, we hope you realise how proud we all are and just how much we love you. You were always full of courage and an inspiration right through to the end, but now all our hearts are broken and we fear they may never fully mend. Today is a celebration of someone who was very much loved, but now it's time to let you go and be with God up above. We will forever search in the night sky for the star that shines so bright, as we tell you that we love you, sweet dreams, god bless and good night. Just know you are surrounded by so much love today and forever, a love that runs so very deep and a bond that can not sever. Now your journey has ended in this wonderful gift we call life, a treasured friend, Auntie, Sister, Grandma, Mum and Wife. By Jessica Rodgers
